In the same week as we announced 4 new long term sponsors to the club the first team management has also announced 4 new signings. First to put pen to paper at the club is long time target Dave Hoar (bottom left in photo above). Dave joins from Henley Town and has been tracked by the management team for over 7 months. Dave is a tricky forward who can also play on the wing and will bring pace and creativity to the team.
Paul McGrotty said "We first noticed Dave playing for Henley. Jeff and I both noticed him. He gave our defence a torrid time at the Racecourse and after that we made an approach. The timing for Dave to join us was not right, due to his loyalty to Henley which we understood and respected. He then scored the winner against us at their place. He is a great lad and will fit in well with the boys. We are very pleased to have him at the club and think he will become a great success! Sam Waddieh (top left in photo above) has this week has signed for Ascot. Sam is a tough tackling central midfielder whose previous clubs include Hemel Hemstead, Windsor and Eton and Marlow where he had links with Manager Jeff Lamb. Jeff says " Sammy can be the key to how well we do this season and the whole team are pleased to have him on board. He is a massive favourite with the players and his attitude and will to succeed is infectious. A great signing for the club"
Third signing is Centre Half Joe Yeates (bottom right in photo above) is a big strong center half. The player has impressed in pre season and the club were delighted to get him on board. "Yeatsey is a big lad and can be a good centre half! He came down with Dave Hancock for pre season and has fitted straight in. He has not played for some time so the best is yet to come but we are very pleased with what we see already. Chris Bowles (top right) is returning to Ascot. He left to play for Binfield's Allied squad and then for Strathspey Thistle when in Scotland. Keen golfer, handicap of 9. (now we know what he did when he was in Scotlans!) A big welcome to all four players who have already impressed in pre-season. Watch out for announcements about some important games coming up soon. Not long to go now!
