ASCOT FACE SHEERWATER TEST IN TITLE QUEST
Ascot United return to action three days after returning to the top of the league table as they welcome Sheerwater to the Racecourse on Tuesday evening (7.45pm). Also note Saturday's kick off at Camberley Town has been brought forward to 2pm due to floodlight damage causes by Storm Ceira.

The yellow-and-blues’ fans’ fingernails will have grown back slightly after Saturday ten men, then nine, then ten again held on to record a heroic win at Spelthorne, and they will need to be at their best again against a side who were sensational up front in winning the reverse fixture 4-2.

Sheerwater’s form has, however, been erratic and lying 17th they arrive looking to complete an unlikely double that will boost their survival hopes. And, they arrive undefeated in three – compared to Ascot’s three wins on the bounce.

Home striker Ian Davies became the league’s outright top scorer on Saturday when he bagged Ascot’s 2nd goal in that 2-1 win at Spelthorne, taking his tally to 23 goals from 31 appearances. However, opposition striker Shane Rideout has a similar goals-per-game tally, so he will be one to look out for as The Sheers look to further dent the Ascot’s Jekyll-and-Hyde home league record of six wins and five defeats.

Whilst Storm Ceira has gone, weather conditions are forecasted to be cold at kick off - with a temperature of 4c lowered to -1c when adding the windchill caused by the lingering wind – so bring your layers!

Tuesday’s other games include Frimley Green (6th) v Raynes Park Vale (19th) and Molesey (4th) v Knaphill (5th); the latter two sides still in the hunt for title glory and Frimley also harbouring outside hopes.

You are up to date – and you will be kept that way when the match report is here tomorrow evening!
