SPECIAL GUESTS MARK RACECOURSE OPENING
Ascot United were delighted that Chairman of the English FA Greg Clarke officially opened their new 3G facility on Thursday evening.

The evening commenced at 5pm with a drinks reception enjoyed by around 100 guests, before Ascot United Chairman Mike Harrison opened proceedings by thanking all the many sponsors and contributors who have facilitated the project – the list being too long to publish!

After having over, the Deputy Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Gary Muir, recognised Mike’s contributions of being such a “driven individual” and wished the club all the best for the current season.

Then, the party moved outside where Greg Clarke cut the obligatory tape after commenting on how pleasing it was to see a club at the heart of the community provide such a facility, especially with its focus on developing a core of young playing talent. However, both Mike and everyone were incredibly grateful for his next contribution - a generous donation of a signed England world cup shirt embroidered with ex-Leicester City and current Manchester United defender [Harry] “Maguire” – Mike quipping “don’t worry, it won’t be on “E-Bay!”

We extend our huge thanks once again to Greg and Gary for making the evening so special.
