Long road to Wembley starts - FA Carlsberg Vase

Ascot make their first foray into the FA Carlsberg Vase competition on the 4th September, the same day as the official opening of the new clubhouse; The Saints Pavilion. The draw is favourable as it offers up two home draws in the qualifying rounds ahead of an away fixture at Aylesbury Utd should the Yellamen proceed.

The FA Carlsberg Vase - fullname Football Association Challenge Vase - is the junior version of the FA Cup for clubs below step 4 - (AUFC is a step 5 club)

The FA Vase competition has well over 500 entries and has 2 qualifying rounds, 6 proper rounds a two-leg semi-final and the final played at Wembley next May.

For Ascot to reach the final they would therefore have to play 10 games so as much home support as possible will be need on the 4th September - it promises to be a Big Day Out.

First Qualifying Round
Saturday 4th September
HOME to Staines Lammas

Second Qualifying round
Saturday 18th September
HOME to either Hertford Town or Mauritius Sports Association

First Round Proper
Saturday 2nd October
AWAY to Aylesbury Utd
